We're off the regular computer for a few days; thank goodness for handheld blogging! Saturday (yesterday) witnessed the local "state" Democratic Party conference. I qualify the word *state* since the citizens of capital city, including numbers of the people who earn their living working in the U.S. Congress, continue to be relegated to second-class status here in the United States of America, as we're not allowed any voting representation in the Senate or the House of Representatives. Is it mere coincidence that Washington's population majority is Black women?? During the conference I most enjoyed yesterday afternoon's break-out session of the Metropolitan DC Federation of Democratic Women. The DC Federation's next meeting is 14 May at the District Building - seat of Washington's still-fledgling local government (authorised by the U.S. Congress only in the 1970s).
