A bit of history of Blacks in Scotland is here: www.nas.gov.uk/about/050930.asp. ALSO - track & listen to Billy Kay's six-part BBC Radio Scotland series, Scotland's Black History. AND - title: Roots: the African inheritance in Scotland. Imprint: Edinburgh: City of Edinburgh Museums & Galleries, 1997.
ISBN: 0905072790. Catalogue of an exhibition in City Art Centre, Edinburgh, 24May-12July 1997.

"Element" - you need to read others' entries and post your own along with their historic locations in the US at the forums at www.afrigeneas.com, Black American volunteer family research community.

Element "The Sho"

My name is ELEMENT from the U.S. I would like to know more about black history in Scotland.
I just found out my family has deep roots in that region that go by the last name Mclachlan (my moms maiden name). And that we have family also from Ireland with last names like Tapper to name one.
If you can, hit me back if anyone knows anything........One

David MacRitchie's Ancient and Modern Britons, Vols 1&2...if you can find it....
