I'm the author, so I'll take a stab at answering your querie. The Scribble comix are something of a free-form jazz riff since I often sit down and begin writing without knowing where I'm going, the only signposts being a news event and my left-of-center viewpoint (with the usual amount of inconsistent hybrid views). However, as you noted, humor is quite important to me and ironic humor -- in which the comix are grounded -- is my favorite sort where the reader must participate by connecting some dots and, hopefully, smiles on doing so. In sum, if one likes ironic humor, then these could be for you, but if that's not one's favorite style, there are many directly cause-oriented comix out there.
